Tree landscape...

This was our lonely tree in the front of our yard...

We thought it needed an upgrade...

So after a little landscaping blocks, dirt, plants, and mulch...

We got this.

Gardening...

Tonight I took some time to complete a little gardening...and added some color to our front yard.

Jason and I ventured up to a Mennonite greenhouse called Deerfield yesterday after work.  We purchased these flowers and the rest of the vegetables you will see below.

I'm not a big gardener....

When I was young, if I got in trouble, my mom would make me pull weeds in the garden.

It must have stuck with me...

because I LOATHE pulling weeds!

But I love having fresh, tasty vegetables in my backyard.

SO, I will put up with pulling a few weeds I guess ;)

Our makeshift deck...

This past weekend we not only did all the landscaping in front, but Jason also made us a picnic table...or our makeshift deck!  He has been wanting a deck on the back of the house, but if we are going to add on, which we plan on doing within the next few years, it would have to get ripped out.  So, I suggested a picnic table.

My parents and Greta stopped by to pick me up to attend Grand March for Prom, and Jacob decided to stay at our house to help Jason put it together.  He is taking woodworking classes in school and has made lots of different things for his room, a dresser, an endtable, and now he is working on all of the trim in his room...regular carpenter right there!

We like it!

Slapped a little sealer on the top and benches, and we have our makeshift deck!  We had a meal on it already and it was wonderful!

On another note, look what I found blooming in my backyard...

Outside updates!



This weekend Jason and I did some updating to our front yard...It might not look like a lot, but it made a big difference to us and updated our home a lot. 

Before...

We dug up all this old lawn edging and replaced it with new.

Here is the spot right in front of the rock wall that we just used regular lawn edging and mulch.

We also updated our solar lights so they are a little brighter! 

It was a good job done and we are very pleased with how it turned out!

Thursday Thoughts.

• I love the smell of chai tea.
• Last year at this time, Jason and I were getting ready to leave for New York City.  Oh how I miss it.
• I never use my snooze button...ever.  My husband on the other hand will hit it up to 10 times. 
• Honey Nut Cheerios make my mornings better.
• I have to make 80 biscuits tomorrow...wish me luck!
• I think I need more coffee cups.
• Baby, it's COLD outside!!! : )

Three Questions:
What is one thing you would like to accomplish before you turn 30?
I want to be able to add on to our small kitchen and have a big beautiful kitchen with a giant table and under cabinet lighting, and a retro design...luckily, my husband makes kitchen cabinets for a living! :)

What would you like to learn about in the next few weeks?
I would like to learn more about my camera!! I feel as though a setting is off that should be on.  It bothers me.  But learning about a DSLR camera is harder than it looks, the vocabulary is beyond me, but I will have to give it a try!

What is something that drives you crazy?
Complainers.  People who think they have the worst life in the world, when really they are quite well off compared to most people.  It makes me angry, and actually kind of sad for them.  I wish they would look around and be thankful rather than whine about how they think nothing right ever happens to them.  Life could always be worse. 

Random...

A few weeks ago I saw these two desks outside of a home that had a "Free for the taking" sign slapped on them.  I snatched those bad boys right up!  I plan on painting this white one, and making it look nice.

This, which I thought was a desk, was actually a sewing machine desk!  I do not sew, but my mother does, and I know she would use this...maybe?  So, not so sure on what I am going to do with this one, but maybe something will come to me!

And here are some pictures I snapped of my cat, Talouse.  He was sitting in a sunspot on the couch.

Jason and I have been putting this off long enough...we have wanted to paint the inside of our garage and epoxy the garage floor since we moved in, and this weekend we did just that!

Here is the garage after Jason painted it...we used a light gray on the walls.

Here we are putting down the epoxy.  It worked really well!  Jason did the rolling and I threw the fleck.

Here we are nearing the end, it took a little while but we know it would turn out looking great....

And it did!! Jason is putting on the glaze coat tommorow, and then after a few days we will have a brand new garage to pull into!
