Dale and Elaine Glaser were on their way to Dubuque. They had something very special waiting there for them. They had waited 10 long and agonizing years for this day. It was a blessing from God. A sacrifice from a person whom they had never met. Someone they will always be thankful for.
I was waiting there for them.
Me. 23 years ago...I was only 11 days old. They picked me up and took me home. They didn't know what to do when I cried, how to strap me in the car seat, or when I should be fed. It didn't matter, they would learn. I was their daughter. Forever. Life is amazing. Sometimes things are just meant to be from the beginning.
My mom stopped by my office today and came up and gave me a hug...I was surprised. I was confused and asked what the occasion was...she said it's November 9th. This is the day we started our family. I had misplaced what this day was, what it meant, and how much my mother can remember :)
My parents are two of the most selfless people you will ever meet. They would jump over any wall, swim through any ocean, tackle any feat, for any of their children. I can't tell you in a million years all the things they have done for me.
I am here. I am healthy. I am blessed beyond belief. I can't imagine life any differently.
