Gone, but never forgotten...

Grandma,
You always had a smile on your face.  You cared about all us grandkids so much and always wanted to know how we were doing.  You will be missed.  I will always remember spending a few nights at your house over the summer, being a town kid for a few days.  I also will always remember how you always had orange Tic Tacs in your car that you would let us eat.  I remember going to see you on Sundays and going out to look at your beautiful flower garden, especially your roses. You raised an amazing family, how lucky I am to have been a part of it.
God bless you Grandma...until we meet again.
A Perfect World
by Ron Tranmer ©
In a perfect world,
death would never be.
Love would be forever,
and last eternally.
In a perfect world,
you’d still be by our side,
lighting up our happy lives.
You never would have died.
In a perfect world,
sadness would not be found.
Love and life, and happiness
forever would abound.
Perhaps that perfect world
awaits us when we die.
A world where eternal bliss
is found in heaven’s sky.
We’ll cling to faith and hope,
for God is a God of love,
and in His time we’ll join you
in a perfect world above.

Bird catching

Talouse just caught a bird and brought it into the house. The bird was very much so alive....and flying...we closed off the upper level of the house so the bird could only be in the basement. After several go arounds in the basement...bird flying and running into windows....Jason captured him and let him go outside. So much excitement! Haha...never a dull moment!

Glaser Christmas 2011

Merry Christmas from the Glaser's!  Hahahahhah!  The top picture is the photo my mom used on her Christmas cards, the one right above this is paragraph is one of the outtakes.  Hahahhah!
Presents! :)  Greta was soooo patient and waited until we got to Mom and Dad's before she opened any presents!  That's pretty good because we did't get there until 10:30!!

Dad with his new flashlight.

Yep, he's a redneck! :)  Look at that sweet hat!

Greta got everything she wanted...Nintendo DS, and a ladybug pillow pet!

Another Christmas is here and gone.  Here's hoping that you and yours has a great New Year!

Andy wrestling at Forest City dual

There was a meet this past Tuesday in Forest City that Andy wrestled in.
Here are some pictures from the dual!
Here he has his opponent in a cradle hold!  Andy pinned both of his opponents that he wrestled.

The picture above is Andy talking with Scott.  Scott is a volunteer wrestling coach this year.

Here is a photo that was on the Globe Gazette website.

Check out the post before this LINK to see an article that Andy has a few quotes in.

Their is another meet tonight at Rockford!  Go Huskies!

Herrick Christmas 2011

Another Christmas, here and gone!  This has been one of the busiest years EVER.  I can't even recall the last time that I blogged!  Ahhh please don't judge me readers!  This year WILL be different!  I am going to work harder on getting posts up quicker!  I promise!
Getting ready to open gifts!  You will notice a few "Ugly" Christmas sweaters in this picture!  It's a tradition to open presents at the Herrick Christmas in an ugly sweater! :)

Meet my pet dino Steve! Haha!  Kathy has a wide assortment of play dinosaurs and Titus is crazy about them! This little guy looked pretty real!

The Herrick Men!

The Herrick Girls!

For New Years, we went down to Jason's grandma's house to celebrate Christmas on that side of the family!  We also celebrated Grandma Alice's birthday!  We arrived on New Year's Eve and all of us had already decided that we were going to ring in the New Year together, so we set out to Harlan to find a place to party! :)  We first stopped at a place called Wild Willie's in Harlan...let's just say we didn't stay to long.

Here we are at the next bar, Westside!  This was a great bar with an upper deck, which is where we were for most of the night unless we were tearing up the dance floor...yes, it got crazy!!  Notice our sweet NYE hats!  This bar is great!  They give you this bag full of poppers, noisemakers, hats, beads, etc!

New Years fun was had by all of the Herrick's!  We had a great time together!

The next day we awoke to a busy house already prepping for the day's food and fun.  The picture above is a standard for the main dish at this family Christmas.  These are called Ranch Burgers!  Inside of these pockets are a combo of beef, onions, kidney beans, and other flavorings.  They are one of a kind, but so so delicious! Bridget and I helped roll them out this year and stuff them!  I should also mention that Bridget gets the credit for all the pictures in this post!  Thanks Bridget!!

Here is little Winny, Holly and Andy's youngest.  Isn't she just adorable!?  She is getting so big!

Here is grandma Alice playing with Winny as we relax after the big meal.

There is more to come!  I have to show you some pictures from my parent's side of the family too! :)

Stay tuned!
